I had my desktop and all my files where there just like they should be. I will rename that user account and name my old one to that format. Windows 10 made another user account named User.Domain. I uninstalled Symantec and went through the rest of the setup procedure.Īfter I booted up I rejoined the domain and went to log in to my account. More info can be found here: Opens a new window. When I got the setup to run it went through a compatibility check of my installed programs and found that the version of Symantec End Point we are running is not compatible with Win 10. Well I finally just booted back to my desktop and noticed that our Symantec was blocking the Auto Run.
The best part is that every time I got an error message to reboot and try booting to the disk again. I thought maybe it’s because my computer is still part of the domain so I un-joined our domain and tried again. I remembered my computer was originally imaged from my generic image for these machines. I then used a script found here: Opens a new window to find the product key. I tried the key on my sticker that didn’t work. I kept on getting hung up on the Windows key page. I was going about it the normal way of booting to the disc then going through the set up. I went out got the ISO burnt it to a disc and fired it up. So I thought why not play with Win 10 on my old computer. I just got a new computer a few weeks ago.
